This is going to be a very truncated battle report compared to some of my usual ones. This was meant to be more of a familiarization for both of us leading up to next month's D-Co Big Game.
Turn 1 after my Movement Phase and Deep Striking units arrive. |
I got lucky early on that the Daemon Prince Harbonah failed his charge on Librarian Eusebius and his paladins (though that might have been a mistake. Don't Monsterous Creatures get Move Through Cover? Sorry Braden). The Dreadknight used this opportunity to make a 'blocking' charge.
The Dreadknight would not get a chance to swing, however. DP Ass Driver got a wound through with the Black Mace, which wouldn't usually be so bad. The problem was failing the subsequent Toughness test (on T6!)
However that did allow the Libby and crew to gouge big chunks out of the Chaos Marines on the flank while also giving them a chance to cast Force, which would prove useful in vanquishing the Daemon Prince on the following turn.
After merely wrecking a chimera, this unit led by Inquisitor Yossarian would not stand up to much abuse. |
Turn 3, apparently. The Terminators would all be dead by the end of this turn. The rest of the game goes really fast after this.
LR Prometheus v. LR squadron Obviously neither of us were prepared to deal with much AV14 |
Inkvisitor Lubyanka puts a desperate shot through the head/cockpit of the Heldrake |
In general I like how most of the units did on the tabletop, but I can also identify a few of the tactical mistakes I made along the way. The traitors would go on to win handily, but I still had fun and I look forward to what I can do with a much bigger force in a couple of weeks.
Hey... is that a S.P. Variant Convoy Truck recovered from the Fort Louise "Bridge Battle?" Sure is. Good to see one of those still around.
