Yossarius -in- "Trench Intervention"

An exciting tale told in five turns. Wherein our intrepid Inquisitor braves the heavily defended trenchworks of Brick'ead and the Orks of DoricAR-1. When last we saw our hero he was misdirecting the Tau of this very same world. Formerly of little consequence and hiding absolutely no devious Imperial secrets of any kind, Doric has been torn apart by several standard months of unending conflict. The Orks, in their eternal search for a bigger scrap, have dug in and invited any of the myriad factions suddenly fighting over this planet to come 'ave a go.
For some time this challenge has been taken up by the heretical Iron Warriors Space Marines. The Inquisition was content to let them wage mutual destruction, but recent gains by the Orks have necessitated a more direct engagement.

The mastermind of the trenchworks.

The allied vehicles are allowed to move very close under cover of smoke launchers before disgorging their holy firepower.

Peekaboo!
"Da boss says get ready fo pointy deemuns."
"Deemuns?! I tought we wuz fightin squishy 'umies"
Meanwhile, on the east flank...

"Send forth your boldest warrior in righteous combat!"
"Oy! Youze lot ain't
good enough ta be picked
outta Gork's toe-jam!"

The Red Hunters stand firm like a dauntless wall of death.

Yet only two short rounds of combat under massed Nob choppas forces Yossarius to enact emergency escape maneuvers.

Meanwhile on the other flank the Deathwatch mop up under the direction of Epistolary Melek Tauss of the Blood Ravens. A pair of Frag Cannons and Dragonfire bolt shells make short work of an entire mob of boyz.

Finally, in what would be the deciding moment of the match, Brick'ead himself erupts from the earthworks to wet his power klaws with Astartes blood. An impossibly fast Librarian Tauss downs him, hopefully preventing the protracted trench battle from spreading much beyond the southerly wastes of this continent. With the main target neutralized, the Brotherhood of the Long Watch withdraw in a close-won victory.
