Da Red Waaagh! Has Landed

Last week my Orks defended their dropships in part 2 of the Red Waaagh! Campaign I've been slowly playing through with joe. Big Mek Sootmouf was tasked (along with his Big Mek Stompa 'Junkinata') to keep the Imperial pressure off of the mustering Roks and dropships, including Grukk's personal Wrath of Gork. Meanwhile the Knights of Alaric Prime and their Cadian allies chose this point to effect a breakthrough of the Ork lines.

Some of my defensive works.

The Superheavy Walkers got stuck in ASAP. Junkinata got one mediocre round of shooting in before remembering he left his D-strength Mega-choppa back at the Rok in favor of the Deffkannon.

Lifta-droppa and Gaze of Mork both failed to hit the Wyvern, leaving that job to the Tankbustas next turn.

Luckily, the Deffkannon's 7" Blast makes it really hard to miss this tightly packed line of Bullgryn.

Said Tankbustas arrive from reserves
They're in the looted Stormraven/Warkopta in the foreground here.
More reserves arrive on the opposite flank.
I really liked how all my reserves got Outflank
in this scenario.

The Titan Combat was drawn out for three rounds until the higher initiative Paladin blew open the Stompa, which then was thrown the full scatter distance to explode directly on top of Warlord Pask's Leman Russ Squadron. This would turn out to be a defining moment of the game.

A weakened but still very deadly Knight Mageara was then free to stomp on this unit of boyz. And boy did he STOMP! Rolled a 6 on the Stomp table and wiped my own Warlord with it.

Three undamaged (da Orks would say cowardly) chimeras eventually sped off the board on the very left flank, awarding a big mess of victory points. But based on kill points, aided by that massive chain reaction esploshun taking out the Tank Commander Warlord, Da Orks sneak by with a win. The Tankbustas were also very destructive, earning me a crucial extra VP from a combination of their Tank Hunters and Glory Hogs special rules.

Next time, Mission 3: The Fall of House Kestren
